Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled
From the Editors of Living Faith

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.”
“Do not let your hearts be troubled,” Jesus says. And what mother has not uttered those same words to her children when they woke from a bad dream, when they fell off their bike, when they faced a challenge of any kind? Do not let your heart be troubled. I am here. I love you. On this Mother’s Day weekend, Jesus (and moms everywhere) reminds us that our faith will carry us through the difficult days ahead and that our loving God is with us every step of the way.
We pray:

A Prayer for Mothers
On this day and always,
we give thanks for the gift of mothers.
May their work, energy, joy and compassion
bring forth the divine spark in each of us,
so that our communities and world
may reflect the divine plan
to live together as beloved children of God.

Amen.
